THE ELEMENTS - GREG COLEMAN

When he's not at work, Greg Coleman spends his time sampling different waysGreg Coleman to play drums and percussion. Whether it's rock or jazz kits, congas, bongos, djembe, cajon, assorted hand percussion, electronic drums (in the form of Roland® pads), Zendrum® ([video] of explanation) or Trapkat®, the goal is fitting the right instrument and the right sound to the venue, the audience and the ambience. The result is often unexpected.

"It's a fun hobby and a joy to play with Denny and his large circle of friends. Working with him has exposed me to so many top players in the area, as well as so many top venues. Because Denny is always throwing us together in different combinations, we often get the chance to improvise... and that keeps it fun, but we still have to work very hard to listen to each other. At this level, it sure isn't the money - it's creating in the moment and hearing that jaw-dropping lick from the guy next to me that makes it all worthwhile," Greg stated as he was packing up his equipment after a recent gig with Denny.

Greg's enthusiasm, expertise and versatility on drums and percussion provide a natural compliment to The Elements since, as Greg mentioned, they do play such a wide variety of music - often on the fly.
