Rock of Luv
Denny Carleton
Short story of my music life
When I was a kid in little league Said coach play or trade me So I put down my glove picked up my guitar
Everything just fell into place In the flow of music and some kind of grace That has brought me pretty far
Didn't know where I fit Didnt know to stand or sit Lookin for the fire that had been lit
Then came faith on
Short story of my music life
When I was a kid in little league Said coach play or trade me So I put down my glove picked up my guitar
Everything just fell into place In the flow of music and some kind of grace That has brought me pretty far
Didn't know where I fit Didnt know to stand or sit Lookin for the fire that had been lit
Then came faith on the wings of a dove Sent down from up above I Keep on rockin to the Rock of love
7 years in the wilderness Felt like Eliot Ness Dodging all the bad guys What a mess
But I had a plate of righteousness And had a lot to confess But I made some new friends When I left the nest
Published my music A few thought I was great I could never figure if I was early or late A square peg in a round hole was my fate
Man should not be alone So I tried with love that was on a loan When the bubble burst I came back home
Folk rock and church hurried by Sang for the ground sang for the sky Laughed so hard I thought I'd cry
Somehow I found the holy grail Take this card get out of jail Came out winning Where I thought I'd fail
I didnt know where I fit Didnt get my kicks on Route 66 That was no top forty hit
Then came hope on the wings of a dove Sent down from up above I kept on rockin to the rock of luv
